Description:
Many
modern astronomers have
adopted a worldview that
is in stark contrast to the Bible.
Holding to a materialistic
philosophy,
they seek to explain the origin of the
cosmos and
the celestial bodies through purely natural processes.
This presentation provides a general introduction to astronomy from the
Biblical worldview ("creation
astronomy").
Creation astronomers, which includes many of the fathers of astronomy,
such as Nicolas
Copernicus and Sir
Isaac Newton,
look to the Word of God for special understanding. The origin and age
of the cosmos and
the celestial bodies are discussed, and important evidence of
fine-tuning is illustrated.
