Refuting Four Recent Attacks
Against The Historical Jesus
by Phil Fernandes
Seattle Creation Conference, October 2011
Description:
Dan Brown, author of The DaVinci Code, claims that the church
never believed Jesus to be God until the Council of Nicea in 325 ad.
Elaine Pagels of Princeton University believes that the so-called
Gnostic Gospels should be added to our Bibles, despite the fact that
these works contradict the New Testament teachings about Jesus. Bart
Ehrman argues that, due to all the variants in the copies, we don't
really know what the original manuscripts of the New Testament actually
said. And Dr. Robert Price doesn't even believe Jesus really
existed--the early church borrowed from pagan myths to construct their
own Jesus myth. Christians must be able to respond to these four attacks
to show the world that the Jesus of the Bible is in fact the true Jesus
of history.
