This talk discusses the important role that Christianity played in the scientific revolution. It notes the importance of math, and mathematical models in science, particularly in astronomy and physics. The strengths and limits of such models are stressed. Should scientific models reflect a deeper reality, or are they merely useful fictions? The replacement of Christianity with naturalism brings problems for mathematics, and science that depends on it.
