Encyclopedia defines ‘paleontology’ as:
n“Paleontology (the study
of fossils) is important in the study of geology. The age of rocks may be determined by the fossils found in them.”
nIn another article in the same encyclopedia in an article on fossils, the same author writes:
n“Scientists determine
when fossils were formed by finding out the age of the rocks in which they lie.”
nSounds like circular reasoning to me!
